PR INTERN

A PR Intern is, above all else, a storyteller. Specifically, s/he is a media-savvy communicator, relationship builder, and sharp narrator who is deeply curious about the role of stories in the lives of consumers. The ideal candidate will be an excellent writer, editor, communicator, and a creative mind.

This internship will mentor the right candidate to teach how to create content to drive awareness and execute PR strategies to drive business results. Media relations is a big part of this role; it will teach how to translate business objectives into strategic public relations. It will also connect PR with content marketing initiatives to build brand awareness and drive business results.

The right candidate for this position must be fluent in written communications and driven to learn the fundamentals of public relations, content, digital, and offline marketing. They must also be extremely organized and great with email communications.

We are looking for someone who wants to partner with the Pop Neuro team to not only tell stories that stand out but convince a journalist to amplify the stories as well. Whether Pop Neuro is creating a branded content video series or writing a thought leadership piece for a media property, we pride ourselves on creating campaigns to inspire both business people and consumers.

This role is responsible for the execution of the PR marketing strategy set forth by the marketing managers. We are looking for a writer who is hungry to learn the content, PR, and general marketing game, who has a startup mindset and is also curious about the neuroscience of marketing.

What You'll Do

  • Conduct influencer research and segment ideal influencers
  • Reach out to journalists, bloggers, and influencers and build a contact list
  • Conduct media research and segment ideal journalists and media outlets
  • Conduct podcast research and segment ideal hosts and outlets
  • Conduct conference research and segment ideal speaking engagements
  • Write targeted pitches and by-lines
  • Pitch media outlets, journalists, podcasters, TV, radio, and conferences

Who You Are

  • A knowledgeable, passionate storyteller who loves to create and define authentic messages for diverse audiences
  • Drive to gather experience conceiving and pitching targeted stories to business, technology, and consumer lifestyle media with a track record of excellent writing samples.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to work concurrently across multiple, diverse projects; skilled at prioritizing workload and deliverables in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in writing, editing, and understanding content strategy and development expertise.
  • Collaborative, team-oriented work style focused on putting team needs ahead of the individual to produce the best possible results.
  • Experience crafting by-lines, blog posts, media pitches, video scripts, newsletters, abstracts are a plus.
  • Experience in communications, public relations, or marketing experience in an agency or startup environment and direct transferable, fast-paced work experience is a plus.

RESEARCH APPRENTICE

Pop Neuro is dedicated to advancing the field of neuromarketing. This entails the generation of new insights, through both primary and secondary research.

The research apprenticeship supports these core functions of the company. They contribute at every step of this process: from understanding the cumulative wisdom of the field, to developing novel research questions, to designing and executing new research paradigms. Importantly, you will play an especially strong role in scientific storytelling: presenting rigorous, evidence-based ideas in a fun, engaging way to a non-specialized audience.

The ideal candidate has a passion for neuroscience, psychology, and marketing and is especially interested in sharing these ideas. This internship will mentor the right candidate to develop core skills in research, scientific communication, and in the real-world application of a neuromarketing perspective.

We are looking for someone who wants to partner with the Pop Neuro founding team to support its intellectual core. Whether Pop Neuro is conducting new research, piecing together existing findings, or disseminating the workof other academics, we pride ourselves on being at the forefront of the field neuromarketing.

What You'll Do

  • Conduct secondary research on topics related to neuromarketing and consumer behavior
  • Assist with conducting primary research: experimental and survey design, data collection, analysis, and reporting
  • Assist and conduct market research
  • Interview primary investigators and external researchers
  • Write research oriented blog posts, and case studies
  • Research trends, insights, and imminent perspectives in the field of neuromarketing

Who You Are

  • You possess a working knowledge of basic findings in neuroscience, psychological science and/or familiar with the scientific method, and primary research techniques (e.g. survey design, data collection, analysis)
  • You are familiar with conducting literary reviews and secondary research
  • You have a passion for scientific research, and for reading peer reviewed, scholarly output
  • You are proficient at writing, editing and understanding content strategy and development expertise
  • You are collaborative, have a team-oriented work style focused on putting team needs ahead of individual to produce the best possible results
  • You have strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to distill complex ideas for non-specialist audiences
  • You show consistency in your work

DEMAND GENERATION INTERN

A Demand Generation Intern is a great communicator, relationship builder and sharp narrator who is deeply curious about the role of neuromarketing in business. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, result/systems-focused, and an excellent writer. This internship will mentor the right candidate on how to create a system that drives awareness, demand and business results. This internship will also teach how to translate business objectives into strategic accounts management, implementation, and identification of new initiatives that drive profitability. The right candidate for this position must be fluent in written communications and driven to learn the fundamentals of business development, sales, and affiliate marketing.

What You'll Do

  • Identify leads for public relations, media, other possible collaborations
  • Build a pipeline of external stakeholders for book and product
  • Reach out to contacts that we would provide you with, as well as those that you will identify, on Linkedin, Twitter, and other channels
  • Craft and manage email campaigns to qualify new leads
  • Craft and send proposals to qualified prospects
  • Follow up and close new prospects
  • Assist with various projects and initiatives, such as public relations lead generation and market research
  • Conduct competitive analysis of indirect and direct competitors

Who You Are

  • You have experience in working with a CRM tool (e.g. Salesforce, Hubspot, etc)

This internship will mentor the right candidate to teach how to create content to drive awareness and execute marketing strategies to drive business results. The right candidate for this position must be driven to learn the fundamentals of marketing and how to apply them to audio, video, digital and offline content. They must also be extremely organized and great with email communications. We are looking for someone who wants to partner with the Pop Neuro team to not only tell stories that stand out but convince other creators to amplify our stories as well. This role is responsible for the execution of the video, audio content marketing strategy set forth by the directors. We are looking for a someone who is hungry to learn the content, PR, video, and general marketing game, who has a startup mindset and is also curious about the neuroscience of marketing.

What You'll Do

  • Edit film until it meets director's specifications
  • Watch scenes and determine which will end up on cutting room floor
  • Work with and manipulate raw camera footage, dialogue, sound effects, graphics and special effects
  • Insert music, sound, or optical effects
  • Use nonlinear digital editing systems to edit clips
  • Edit videofor website, social media, YouTube and more
  • Reorder and tweak the content to ensure the logical sequencing and smooth running of the film/video
  • Work on podcast and any audio content related editing

Who You Are

  • You have experience with Adobe Premier Pro or Apple Final CutPro video editing software
  • You have a portfolio of video and/or audio works created
  • You have strong project management skills with the ability to work concurrently across multiple, diverse projects; skilled at prioritizing workload and deliverables in a fast-paced environment
  • You are proficient in understanding content strategy and development expertise

This role is responsible for the execution of the content marketing strategy, online and offline marketing, demand generation tactics, lead conversion principles, and development of marketing campaigns—all set for by the director of marketing. We’re looking for an executioner who’s hungry to learn the content and business development game and is curious about the neuroscience of marketing.
